DRAPER IMMORTAL - FAQs
Can I register on race day?
No. There is a registration deadline so we can adequately provide time for our vendors to produce finisher medals and swag. If spots are available, registrations will be accepted at packet pickup, but we will not be able to guarantee a t-shirt, medal, or other swag. The price will be adjusted to reflect this.
can i pick up my packet on race day?
We will provide two days for packet pickup and encourage you to take advantage of packet pickup prior to race morning. However, we understand some of our athletes will be driving from various parts of the state on race day. If this is the case, let us know and we will have your packet at our booth before the race.
Where/when will results be posted?
OK Runner will provide results online immediately after the conclusion of each race.
will there be restrooms?
We will have multiple Porta-Potties in the Marina parking lot. You can also find Porta-Potties at several locations around Lake Draper, should you need to stop during the 25K or 50K.
where can i park?
Parking is in the Marina, located at 8301 SE 104th St. Parking can run low for large events, and we recommend carpooling if at all possible. See the image at the bottom of this page for a map of parking locations.
What is the weather like?
The historical temperature for this date and area is a high of 73, and low of 49. We plan to run, rain or shine! In the event of extreme rain, severe weather, or otherwise dangerous conditions, the race may be delayed or cancelled.
IS THE COURSE HILLY?
The 25k and 50k have moderate hills, on both the north and east sides of the lake. For those new to ultramarathon distances, we recommend walking the hills. This technique is adopted even by high level ultramarathoners, as it gives your legs a bit of rest and assists with strength and endurance in later portions of the race.
I have never run a 50k. what should i expect?
A 50K is 31.1 miles, while a marathon is 26.2 miles. If you can run a marathon, you can run a 50K! We recommend using a proven marathon training plan. If you would like personalized coaching, we are more than happy to point you in the direction of coaches in the area.
Is the draper immortal course closed to just the participants?
No. Although we have a permit for this race, the paved MAPS-3 trail is open to the public. We will share this course with cyclists, walkers, fur babies, and other runners. The paved trail is two lanes wide around the entire lake, and we do not anticipate any issues whatsoever regarding traffic or congestion.
Will i be able to buy race photos?
You won't have to! Draper Immortal is providing race photos free of charge. Kyle McKinley Photography will be in attendance, and all race participants will be provided with unlimited free downloads of race day pictures. Should you choose to purchase prints, canvases, or other wall art to commemorate the race, you will be able to do so easily from the race photo gallery.
